There may be factors for these organisations to consider to provide child safe environments.
The child safe environments provisions of the Children and Young People (Safety) Act 2017 and the Child Safety (Prohibited Persons) Act 2016 may apply to interstate organisations providing a service to children in South Australia.

The requirements include:
- developing a child safe environments policy and code of conduct
- developing a risk management strategy
- complying with mandatory notification procedures
- lodging a child safe environments compliance statement
- making sure working with children checks have been conducted.
National organisations hosting events in South Australia should check with their South Australian branches to find out what the state branch’s child safe environments policies are.
In many cases, the national organisation may agree to apply the policies of the South Australian branch to meet their obligations.
