A formal capacity management plan has been introduced at Glenelg Primary School to assist the management of enrolment numbers and give families living within the school’s catchment area priority access to available places.
Priority consideration will be given to prospective reception students who are already on the enrolment register, have been living inside the school zone for a longer period of time and have siblings currently enrolled at the school.
Enrolment applications for students in year 1 to 7 living within the school zone will only be considered if or when vacancies exist.
Families who have recently enrolled their child will be notified of the outcome of this process by the beginning of week 1, term 4 2017. If no vacancies exist, the applicants will be placed on the enrolment register and referred for enrolment to neighbouring schools.
Full details of the plan are set out in the Government Gazette.

The plan is necessary in ensuring families who have been living in the area for the longest period of time can enrol their child into the school closest to them.
This move will make sure the school can continue to operate in a safe and manageable environment for years to come.
