More than 6,000 students from over 220 metropolitan schools have descended on the Festival Centre as part of this year’s SA Public Primary Schools Festival of Music that runs between Tuesday 13 and Friday 23 September.
The festival offers a diverse program of music, dance and drama showcasing choirs, orchestras, dance troupes and soloists which make up the 3 performance groups from central, southern and northern Adelaide.
Every year the festival performs a commissioned piece created by local artists, with this year’s theme sharing the message of sustainability through a series of songs complimented by acting and dance pieces.
Klemzig Primary School’s signing choir will join centre stage with Auslan students from Brighton and Adelaide High to perform the National Anthem and support verbal performances throughout the night.
Regional schools also play an important role in the festival and have been performing in local events across the state.
