South Australia is today hosting the inaugural Literacy Summit with international and national experts providing advice about the latest research to lift literacy results in our schools and preschools.
The summit is one of several strategies to build a world-class education and child development system in South Australia.
The Literacy Summit will present current research and evidence-based advice to support the important work in our schools and preschools to ensure every child achieves their potential.
The keynote address ‘How the reading brain teaches us to teach, predict and intervene’ will be delivered by internationally acclaimed literacy expert, Professor Maryanne Wolf.
Other leading academic speakers presenting at the summit include Dr Sally Humphrey, Dr Christine Edwards-Groves, Dr John Munro and Dr Deslea Konza. Principals, preschool directors and literacy leaders from across the state will choose sessions best matched to the literacy challenges their learners face.
