The State Government will invest $45,000 over the next 3 years to host the Science Alive Careers Day, an initiative aimed at connecting students interested in science-related careers with people working and studying in the fields of science and technology.
The funding of $15,000 per year will enable more than 5,000 Year 7-12 students from across the state to attend the event annually.
The Careers Day on Friday 3 August 2018 is a preview event prior to the Science Alive Science Exhibition which runs 4-5 August 2018.
The Science Alive Careers Day is an excellent opportunity to promote the range of career pathways available to young people in STEM related industry areas.
Exclusively for school groups of Year 7-12 students from across the state, the Science Alive Careers Day was attended by 5,092 students from 78 schools in 2017.
The event is held at the Adelaide Showgrounds and organised by a management committee overseen by Royal Agricultural and Horticultural Society of SA Inc.
