Following on from its most impressive year yet, the Premier’s Reading Challenge has officially launched for the 2019, encouraging all students in reception to year 12 to pick up a book and be part of a literary journey.
Last year over 132,000 students completed the Reading Challenge that requires students to read 12 books in 8 months, with over 1.6 million books being read as a result.
The Premier’s Be Active Challenge has also launched for the year, inspiring students to keep up or increase the amount of physical activity they do every day.
Setting students with the task to complete 60 minutes of physical activity per day for 4 weeks, the Be Active Challenge is a physical activity engagement tool that supports schools’ focus on wellbeing through health and physical education.
The Challenges, which run from the beginning of term 1 to the end of term 3, will recognise outstanding schools for their achievements at the Premier’s reception which will be held in November this year.
