Community consultation has begun on the proposed names for three out of four brand new schools set to open in 2022.

The proposed names are:

*Pronounced ‘Bay-in-di’, the word Payinthi echoes the meaning ‘to seek, look for, examine, be thinking’ and has been provided by the Kaurna Warra Pintyanthi at the University of Adelaide.

The proposed names for each school were developed by advisory committees made up of the school’s principal, neighbouring school staff and local parents.

All the proposed names hold significant links to their location and surrounding landmarks.

People located in the communities where these schools will be built are encouraged to complete the short survey.

Consultation on the three new school names is open until Friday 2 October and surveys can be found online via the following:

A process to identify a name for the new high school in Goolwa will begin once a committee has been established later this year.
