Pennington Kindergarten has become Pennington Children’s Centre, a welcome change that accompanied the move to a brand new facility which opened Tuesday 13 March.
The change from Kindergarten to Children’s Centre allows Pennington to offer a wider range of child and family related services best suited to the needs of the community.
The 45 place Centre has relocated next to Pennington R-7 which will enable the sites to work collaboratively and provide support to families from birth to year 7.
Director Jessica Dubois is excited by the possibilities the new centre offers for learning for all - children, teachers, parents and the community.
“This new service model and the new spaces we’ve created will help to bring together education, care, health, community development activities and family services for families and their young children”.
“A Community Development Coordinator has joined our team of educators and we will continue to work together with our community to ensure our new centre brings most value to our children and families”.
Pennington Children’s Centre is 1 of 4 prototypes who successfully received funding through the SA Collaborative Childhood Project to provide the opportunity for children, families and educators to research the principles of the Reggio Emilia educational project and work collaboratively with other prototypes in the state this year.
