Thousands more students and their families can now see what their future school will look like, with concept designs revealed for nine new school upgrades across South Australia.
The new facilities and/or upgrades will be delivered as part of a total $1.3B capital works investment to public education across the state.
Concept images revealed today showcase the modern, state-of-the-art facilities that students and staff will soon be able to access at Ceduna Area School, Craigmore High School, Glossop High School, Golden Grove High School, Kapunda High School, Seaton High School, Seaview High School, Woodville High School and Victor Harbor R-7 School.
The capital works detailed in the latest revealed concept plans include:
- Consolidating Glossop High School as a unified campus on the Berri senior campus, creating a year 7 to 12 secondary school for 800 students and refurbishing and expanding the performing arts area.
- Construction of a new two level multi-purpose creative design building at Seaview High School and the construction of a new performing arts facility and associated performance spaces including rehearsal workshops, amenities and outdoor spaces.
- New building providing combined horticulture, home economics and VET spaces at Woodville High School in addition to new PE learning spaces and refurbished science and art classrooms.
The plans are based on discussions between project architects, school leadership, the Department for Education and the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure. These plans and concept designs will continue to be developed and may be subject to change as the projects progress.
The nine concept plans being released come in addition to 13 concept designs for major school upgrades revealed last month.
