Starting secondary school in 2022

27 April 2021

Registrations of interest are open for families to apply for their year 6 or 7 child to start secondary school in 2022.

All public secondary schools will be taking enrolments for year 7s for 2022.

Families can also apply for one of the 4 new secondary schools opening next year in Angle Vale, Aldinga, Whyalla, and Goolwa.

For public school families

  • If your year 6 or 7 child is currently attending a government primary school, you will be sent a unique link in an email or letter to access your child’s online registration of interest form.
  • On this form you will be able to nominate the public secondary school/s you would like your child to attend in 2022. Paper forms are also available.

For non-government school families

  • If your year 6 or 7 child is currently attending a non-government school, you can also apply for them to attend a public secondary school in 2022.
  • You can get further information and a registration form from your local secondary school, education office or through the Department’s website.

Information videos are also available to help complete the online registration form.

Registrations will close Friday 21 May 2021.

You will receive secondary school enrolment offers by Friday 13 August 2021.

An application to enrol is not a guarantee of a placement. Get in touch with your local secondary school to learn about what the school can offer your child and for information on any enrolment rules.

Find your secondary school zone at education.sa.gov.au/findaschool.
