Education law reform

Education and Children’s Services Act 2019

The Education and Children’s Services Act 2019 (the Act) passed Parliament on 1 August 2019.

Once in force, the Act will replace the Education Act 1972 and the Children's Services Act 1985. It will provide a contemporary framework for the delivery of high-quality children's services and compulsory education in South Australia.

Work is currently being done to consider the implementation of the new legislation, including drafting new regulations.
