Education and Children’s Services Bill 2017

The Education and Children's Services Bill 2017 was introduced in Parliament on 9 August 2017.

This followed a period of public consultation from 19 December 2016 until 10 March 2017.

Feedback on the Bill was initially invited on the department's website, and from 16 January, the State Government’s YourSAy website was also used as a platform to engage the public.

A total of 45 responses were received from organisations and individuals by email and via discussion posts on the YourSAy website. An Engagement Summary Report has been posted on the YourSAy website.

This feedback informed the finalisation of the Bill.

The Bill passed the House of Assembly on 17 October 2017 and was introduced in the Legislative Council on the same day.

You can follow the progress of the Bill or read the Parliamentary debate in Hansard on the SA Parliament website.
