Disclosing government information

The SA Government proactively discloses information that is regularly requested under freedom of information (FOI)  so that it is available to the community.

The government acknowledges the information it holds is a valuable public resource and is committed to being open and accountable while engaging with the community. The government values public participation in the making of decisions, policies, and laws.

Since September 2013 the department has been publicly publishing regularly requested information as part of the Government’s commitment to transparency and accountability. The process is governed by Premier and Cabinet Circular 35 (PC035) (PDF 673KB) . This policy was updated in March 2016 to include an expanded range of information.

The information made available under PC035 includes expenditure on mobile phones, credit cards, overseas and domestic travel, ancillary office expenditure, capital works, procurement practices, consultants and gifts.
