Department for Education

The Mathematics 6-9 program is co-designed and delivered by the Department for Education. Throughout the program you will explore research-informed strategies and collaborate with colleagues to design quality mathematics tasks, underpinned by the department’s curriculum resources.

The program has developed my teaching practice to ensure all students are being challenged and individual needs are met. The practical activities we have used have truly engaged my learners and provided ample evidence of student understanding and uncovered misconceptions.

Applied learning

Applied learning is key to improving your practice. At each day, you’ll apply the learning to your context and your students, by making a commitment to action. Between learning days, you’ll trial tasks and approaches in your classroom then share your findings with other participants at the next session. The applied learning task will be outlined in detail in the sessions with support provided to you by the facilitators.
