Bilingual education develops essential skills for living and working in a global society. Research tells us that critical, flexible thinking and problem-solving skills improve creativity and the ability to concentrate.
Highgate School and Unley High School have teamed up to deliver South Australia’s first French bilingual program, which will offer an educational stream in French and English for reception to year 12 students by 2022.
From 2018, the bilingual/binational program will be progressively implemented at Highgate and commence at Unley High School. Reception students in the French stream are learning 80% of their lessons in French and 20% in English. The program teaches a combined French national curriculum and Australian Curriculum.
These schools are part of the Australian Association of French English Bilingual Schools (AAFEBS) and have access to the experience and expertise of existing interstate French bilingual schools and programs.
More information is available in the flyer for parents about the French bilingual schools.
