A new school for the South

On this page

A new birth to Year 12 public school will be built along Quinliven and Port Roads in Aldinga.

The new school will provide 1675 students from the Aldinga Beach, Sellicks Beach and surrounding areas with greater access to high-quality schooling.

The new school is being built to meet projected enrolment demand coming from strong population growth in the area and a growing demand for public education in the south.

This new state-of-the-art school will include a focus on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) studies to educate students for jobs of the future.

    The new school will have:

    • 1500 places for reception to year 12 students
    • 100 inclusive spaces for students with disability
    • an onsite children’s centre with 75 places
    • state-of-the-art learning facilities.

The new school will be built on around 14 hectares of land along Quinliven and Port Roads in Aldinga. This land was chosen following an extensive feasibility process and careful consideration with respect to nearby recreation facilities and residential development.

The school is in a growth area of Aldinga that is close to the local sporting precinct, with the potential to form a community hub.

The school will be constructed using a public/private partnership (PPP) process. This is an arrangement where the state government and private sector work together to finance, design, construct, operate (non-curriculum) and maintain the school.

The private sector will construct and then maintain the school providing services like cleaning and lawn mowing, while the public sector will provide education and care programs to the students.

The school will be ready for the start of the 2022 school year.
