Closures and reopenings of schools and preschools

Renmark North Primary School to reopen on Friday 2 April

We will reopen Renmark North Primary School on Friday 2 April following completion of the Department for Education’s COVID-19 protocol. 

This follows a thorough professional cleaning of the site using disinfectants that health authorities have indicated are effective against COVID-19.

Students and staff members that SA Health has advised us need to self-isolate have been contacted and will not return to the school until they have completed the self-isolation period. 

All other students and staff can return when the school reopens.

Henley High School will be closed on Thursday 2 April 2020

2 April

We have been informed by the Communicable Disease Control Branch of SA Health that a student at Henley High School has been diagnosed with COVID-19. 

The Department for Education has enacted its COVID-19 protocol and shut the site for a minimum of 24 hours. 

Parents/carers are currently being contacted and the school is releasing students to go home in a manner agreed by parents/carers.

If you are attending the site to collect your child please sign them out as instructed. This will ensure the school can keep an accurate record of who has and hasn’t been collected.   

Public health officials are carrying out contact tracing and the Department for Education and SA Health will inform anyone who needs to self-isolate. 

As soon as the site is vacated we will thoroughly clean the relevant areas consistent with the recommendations for environmental management for prevention of transmission of coronavirus. 

The site will not reopen until public health officials indicate it is safe to do so.
 

Pennington School R to 7 will be closed on Thursday 2 April

1 April

The Department for Education has enacted its COVID-19 protocol and shut the site for a minimum of 24 hours.

Parents and carers are currently being contacted.

Public health officials are carrying out contact tracing and the Department for Education and SA Health will inform anyone who needs to self-isolate.

Out of school hours care

SA Health has revised their advice to confirm that it is now appropriate to open full day OSHC services to children who cannot be supervised at home.

Schools and early childhood facilities

The Communicable Disease Control Branch of SA Health advised us on 29 March of the recommendation to proactively close all schools and early childhood facilities in and between the towns of Nuriootpa, Tanunda, Angaston, Lyndoch and Williamstown from Monday 30 March.

The closure is a proactive measure specific to this area because SA Health has identified a number of linked COVID-19 cases in people who have been in those towns. SA Health is continuing to monitor this situation and is working to identify and quarantine people who may have been exposed. Identified people will be contacted as soon as possible.

We will not be opening schools and early childhood facilities in the region until public health officials indicate we can do so.

Families are being contacted with information about the closure and details on how continuity of learning will be supported.

Note that Family Day Care can still operate at the discretion of the carer.

Kingston Community School to reopen on Tuesday 31 March

We will reopen Kingston Community School on Tuesday 31 March following completion of the Department for Education’s COVID-19 protocol. 

This follows a thorough professional cleaning of the site using disinfectants that health authorities have indicated are effective against COVID-19.

Students and staff members that SA Health has advised us need to self-isolate have been contacted and will not return to the school until they have completed the self-isolation period. 

All other students and staff can return when the school reopens.
