A chance to say thanks to our volunteers
During National Volunteer Week, our department says thank you to our amazing volunteers by having some activities in the department's gallery to showcase the role volunteers play in our schools, preschools and children’s centres.
From Monday 21 May to Friday 25 May, everyone is welcome to check out the displays, along with a range of activities, including:
- exhibition of children and students’ creative tributes to our volunteers, Monday 21 to Friday 25 May
- sausage sizzle, 11.00am to 2.00pm, Wednesday 23 May
- free coffee morning, 9.00am to 11.30am, Friday 25 May
- annual National Volunteer Week parade, 10.00am to 12.30pm, Monday 21 May.
Come along to see what our volunteers do and how they make a difference to children and young people. We’d love to hear how you make a difference as a volunteer. You can register to join us for the parade.
We also have a couple of special invitation-only events, including a volunteer morning tea and a wellbeing and resilience workshop.
Where to find us
The gallery is on the ground floor of the Education building at 31 Flinders Street, Adelaide.
About our volunteers
The department has more than 25,000 volunteers who give their time and talents to help children and young people learn and grow.
Our volunteers are parents, family, caregivers and people from the community. They bring their life skills, expertise, knowledge and diversity to our schools, preschools and children's centres.
