There are 40 Sapsasa districts (from over 600 schools), with 22 in country and outer-metropolitan areas and 18 in the metropolitan area. A district convenor conducts local events in each district.
Annual feature events include state carnivals in cricket, Australian rules football, football (soccer), hockey, netball, softball and tennis, and state championships for cross country, swimming and track and field. School Sport SA also takes part in School Sport Australia 12 and under championships interstate programs in 15 sports.
