Learn about fractions of halves and quarters and how they can be represented. You'll need the final challenge from the last lesson, A4 paper and a pencil.
Equivalent fractions for a half

Learn about equivalent unit fractions relating to halves, quarters and eighths. You'll need a pen or pencil, the fraction kit from last lesson, A4 paper, scissors and a ruler.
Counting in fractions

Learn to count in unit fractions (1/2, 1/4, 1/8) and record equivalent fractions as numerals and in words. You'll need your fraction strips from last lesson, paper and a pen.
Finding fractions of collections

Learn to find unit fractions with different wholes. You'll need a pen or pencil and paper.
Thirds, sixths and ninths
Mathematics lesson 6 (Series 2)
Learn about thirds and their related fractions. You'll need a pen or pencils and A4 paper, a ruler and scissors.

Learn about thirds as a unit fraction and related fractions. You'll need a pen or pencil and paper and the fraction kit that you have made.
Counting in fractions
Mathematics lesson 8 (Series 2)
Learn to count in thirds, sixths and ninths in a unit fraction. You'll need a pencil and paper and your fraction kit for halves and thirds.
Finding fractions of collections
Mathematics lesson 9 (Series 2)
Learn to find unit fractions in a collection of objects. You'll need a pencil and paper and some objects you can count (for example, pasta, counters or gum nuts) and your fraction kit.
Fifths and related unit fractions
Mathematics lesson 10 (Series 2)
Learn about fifths as a unit fractions and their related fractions. You'll need a pen or pencil and A4 paper, scissors, a ruler and a collection you can use as counters (for example, gumnuts, pasta or small toys).
