School Card for low-income families in government schools

On this page

The School Card scheme offers some financial relief for eligible low-income families. This helps to cover education costs (materials and services charge).

The School Card scheme is not offered to preschool children.

Application forms

Visit School Card scheme (SA.GOV.AU) to view all application forms.

Non-government schools

Individual non-government schools will determine whether they will use the School Card income eligibility assessment process to determine whether they'll provide fee relief.

The School Card scheme procedure for non-government schools (PDF 657 KB) provides information on the requirements for non-government schools, including:

  • eligibility criteria
  • application process
  • your school’s responsibility in the application process
  • how to check the progress of an application
  • process for reassessments
  • closing date for applications.

Application status reports

Non-government schools are sent a report showing the status of School Card applications received by the department.

This report includes applicant details for all submission received.
