Schools and preschools will share in $37 million to support high priority maintenance projects across the state.
As part of the state budget 2020-21, every preschool will receive a grant of $30,000 and all schools will receive grants of between $20,000 and $100,000 to engage local tradespeople to deliver priority maintenance works at their sites.
The grants allow schools and preschools to work with their facilities manager or support local tradespeople and determine their own priority maintenance projects to improve their sites.
Projects may include maintenance works like painting, replacing flooring or creating a new nature play area.
Funding will be distributed to schools and preschools in 2021. All projects must be completed by September 2021.
