As part of a suite of election commitments to families of students attending non-government schools, the government committed to hold a review of school bus services, noting the inequities between students being able to access their school of choice in the city as opposed to regional South Australia, and the complexity of current arrangements.
The review was overseen by a working group with members from the Department for Treasury and Finance, the Department for Education and the Department for Infrastructure and Transport. It was published on 13 October 2020.
Sections identifying specific costs have been redacted as commercial in confidence, in order to protect the position of the Department for Education when dealing with private contractors on behalf of South Australian taxpayers.
