Sexual health education is taught primarily through the health and physical education learning area of the Australian Curriculum.
Schools may choose to engage external providers from the approved sexual health education provider list to support student learning.
Approved provider list
The approved sexual health education provider list to allow schools to choose programs that best suit their needs. This includes professional development for teachers and presentations delivered directly to students.
Using the approved provider list
The approved provider list is for South Australian government primary and secondary schools.
From the end of October 2024, only providers included on the approved provider list can be selected by schools to support student learning in sexual health.
South Australian government schools can access the list on the department’s intranet (staff login required). Schools are responsible for managing any costs (if applicable) and contracting the provider for the work.
Schools and external providers can email Education.SHProviderList@sa.gov.au to find out more.
