This page explains how to nominate for selection in the 10 to 19 years diving state team to compete at the School Sport Australia championship in 2024.

Who can nominate to be selected

To nominate for selection, students must be:

• enrolled at an affiliated school.
• born 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014.

When and where

Adelaide, South Australia from Saturday 10 to Friday 16 August 2024.

How to nominate for selection

Complete the online nomination form by Friday 12 April 2024.

You will receive a confirmation email within 2 business days once your nomination has been processed. Your school will also be sent a copy as confirmation of your nomination. Your school has the right to not approve a child’s involvement based on behaviour, attendance and other grounds as determined by the school.

Selection process

Meeting the criteria does not guarantee selection.

1. The School Sport SA diving state championship on Monday 26 February is the primary selection trial. All students wishing to be considered for selection must nominate online. Students unavailable for this event and wish to be considered for selection must nominate online and email Sherree Cameron sherree.cameron@divingsa.com.au with valid reasons for unavailability.
2. Results from Diving SA events and any other events will be taken into consideration for team selection.

Students will be advised of their selection or non-selection by Wednesday 1 May.

School endorsement

Selection in a School Sport SA state team requires endorsement from the student’s school principal before confirming their place in the team. Therefore, parents are advised not to make any arrangements that incur costs until the school has confirmed that the student fulfils all requirements.

Training and championship expectations

All selected team members will be required to attend all team trainings and a team photo shoot.

Country team members travelling more than 2 hours can negotiate their commitment.

The selected student agrees to attend the competition for the full duration including the opening and closing ceremonies and the educational excursion.

Accommodation and travel

Students will not stay in group accommodation as the championship is held in Adelaide. Parents/caregivers must arrange daily transport for their child.

Championship costs

An individual itemised account will be provided for every student selected in a School Sport SA state team.

The cost is estimated to be approximately $1000 for this championship. Levies and training costs will be included on the invoice. Uniform ordering will be a separate online ordering process where payment is made directly to the supplier.
