When to change a governing council's constitution

On this page

A site's approved constitution does not usually need to change, even if it’s a few years old. There are 2 exceptions to this, when:

  • a site’s name changes
  • the membership structure of the council needs to change.

Reasons to change a council’s membership

A change to the membership structure might need to happen if:

  • you consistently find you don’t have enough council members
  • the number of students at the site changes
  • the needs of the site change and you have different committees to work with.
