SA ahead of national average in apprentices and trainees

South Australia has recorded a 22.8 per cent jump in apprentices and trainees in-training with more than 30,000 across the state.

According to the most recent data from the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) released today, there were 30,660 apprentices and trainees as of 30 September 2022 – or 5,685 more when compared to the same time a year earlier in September 2021.

Nationally there was a 14 per cent increase.

Commencements also increased – up by 11.4 per cent – 1820 more, up to 17,845. This is well above a national commencement increase of 6.1 per cent.

Completions also increased by 18 per cent, or 920 more to 6,020, whereas nationally there was a 20.9 per cent increase.
