Non-government school loans to build or upgrade facilities

On this page

Non-government schools can apply for low-interest loans to build or upgrade facilities. This includes early learning centres co-located on school sites.

Between 2020 and 2023, $320 million will be available for loans lasting up to 15 years. Each loan’s first 5-years are interest free.

Loans of between $500,000 and $10 million per school are available.

Criteria

We will prioritise infrastructure projects that:

  • increase the number of students who can enrol in areas where there is demand
  • support student retention
  • refurbish existing facilities to provide a modern learning experience.

Key dates

The second round of applications will open on 16 September 2021, and close on 7 November 2021.

There will be at least 2 funding rounds per year from 2021. We will announce the dates closer to each round.
