If your school decides to set up a hub you will need to look into the legal requirements. You also need to think about child safety.
Schools and preschools are responsible for keeping children safe. You need to follow the relevant policies and guidelines around:
- child safety
- letting people onto the school site.
A good place to start is the department’s information about child safe environments.
To protect everyone involved in the hub it’s recommended you have a formal agreement. Agreements can be once-off, or up to 12 months. You can find out more on the department’s intranet (staff login required).
